WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-Up
Hello! Welcome to the 188th edition of the WoW Economy Weekly Wrap-up!
My name is
and I am a content creator focusing on making gold using Professions and
. I have a number of guides over on
and I also stream my adventures on
25,000 Anima for 5 Korthite Crystals
One of the interesting things to come out from the
July 27th Hotfixes
was an option to exchange Anima for materials, in particular
Items and Rewards
Broker Ko'tul in the Great Vault room will now exchange excess Anima for caches of tradeskill goods, including Korthite Crystals.
Developers’ note: As players have traversed the more Anima-rich lands of Korthia, some players are finding that they no longer have new unlocks to spend it on. We do not intend to add significant new one-time Anima sinks in Chains of Domination, and want to provide an outlet for players who are content with their choice of Covenant but have purchased everything that is offered.
7500 for either 10 heavy callous hide, 20 lightless silk, 20 elethium ore, or 25000 for 5 korthite crystals
Covenant armor was increase to 250 anima each (from 100), it seems like that might still be worth more gold depending on your server.
EDIT: Ater doing some math, it seems Korthite Crystals (which sell for just under 3k each on my server) are the best profit.
Prior to 9.1 it used to be a conversion ratio of 2.5. You could get 250 gold for each 100 anima spend. That meant 2500 gold for 1000 anima and 25000 gold for 10000 anima. If you got all sanctum things to level 3 and played regularly, this was a decent way to get gold.
Then, about two weeks ago, they changed the vendor price of the anima gear pieces to less than 100 gold. It varies between 60 to 84 gold. That would mean a conversion rate of 0.6 to 0.84. With Korthia and the Archivists' Codex upgrades giving you anima en masse, this was still a good anima sink.
Today's change, which increases the anima price of the armor pieces from 100 to 250 for all items, turns the conversion rate from 0.24 to 0.336.
Granted, this was never meant to be a huge gold earning scheme, and considering that the callings throw money at you as well, the inflation is gonna be high regardless. Still, it was fun while it lasted.
It's a nice option to be able to choose what to do with excess Anima (so much for the drought then), but I suspect it won't heavily impact on the Korthite Crystal prices..

TradeSkillMaster Roadmap and Help Videos
posted a call for feedback on the upcoming planned work on the Tasklist, a feature of TSM that helps you gather and craft the necessary items to sell..
Not many people commented on the
Roadmap we shared
as part of the launch of 4.11 - it contains feedback/suggestions from you the community, plus things we would like to pursue.
We have just discussed what to focus on for version 4.12, and the Tasklist is the primary target for improvements. It was introduced in TSM4 and hasn't really been iterated upon since.
Take a look at the
Prioritised Ideas column on our Trello board
, and let us know what you think about the featured items, and if you feel like there are things missing that you'd want to see considered for the Tasklist UI and gathering experience.
It's great to see the TSM team actively seeking and responding to feedback while planning the future of the addon. If you have any suggestions, please refer to the

9.1 prep the Baubleworm project
has gone a slightly more niche route in their gold making path, but a successful one nonetheless...
In my boredom in waiting for 9.1 one of the things I decided to try was to obtain the items needed to purchase a lot of the new Baubleworm battlepets on release day.
The Topaz, Ruby and Turquoise Baubleworm’s are purchased in exchange for three different grey items from a variety of sources. I purchased quite a lot of these component items at the default auction house listing price <2g but I also farmed quite a bit on both the EU and US. All of the pets were bought on Draenor EU and Thrall US and transferred to other servers via the pet journal. On the day of 9.1 release, I had each of these pets listed on over 125 servers.
Now I’m more than aware these numbers are fairly small in comparison to what a lot of people (including myself) have made from crafter’s mark or legendries in gold value. I did however find it useful as I did all the work for this during the last 5-6 weeks of 9.0 so gold making opportunities during this time were really low. I do also have quite a bit of stock still up on the auction house so overtime these numbers will increase but one month since patch release seems a reasonable time to have a look at how it’s gone.
Sales figures after one month:
Ruby Baubleworm Sales
Topaz Baubleworm Sales
Turquoise Baubleworm Sales
p any extra cheap component grey items that popped up even when I knew these were on servers, I would never be buying the pets on. Initially I used these to massively increase the regionvalue on the base items such as The Stoppable Force. Leading up to the release of 9.1 I had over 50% of items such as
The Stoppable Force
across the whole EU and as you can see from its value below, I managed to manipulate the price considerably. I was not sure if pushing the price of the component items would even affect the value of the pets when 9.1 released but it was fun to play with anyway.
The Stoppable Force EU Region Value
Once 9.1 was released and I had got a lot of pet sales I started throwing the spare components I had bought for literally nothing at 20k a piece and I managed to get quite a few sales. I could potentially have sold these for more but I just wanted to liquidate stock quickly as I knew there would be eventually an influx. It did however top up my profits from this little project as you can see from examples from a couple of the component items listed below.
Robble's Wobbly Staff Sales
The Stoppable Force Sales
I had a lot of fun with this even the farming part I did not mind so much and I have never farmed anything since I got Bruto 14 months ago. That being said I wont be returning to farming again anytime soon. Hope you enjoyed the read 😊.
This is a wonderful writeup and a great example of doubling down in a niche market, especially when you consider this was over 125 servers!
